The purpose of Eighth Grade Mathematics is to guide students as they learn to write mathematically, acquire and develop their love of learning, build connections between mathematics and society, become careful and critical thinkers and to incorporate technology into their learning experiences. The topics to be covered include: Rational & Irrational Numbers, Exponents, Scientific Notation, Linear Equations, Pythagorean Theorem, Functions, Linear Functions, Scatter Plots, Linear Systems, Volume, Two-Way Tables and Transformations.
